Driving’s fun, but eventually you have to stop! Brakes are a necessary part of a car, but sometimes they have to be replaced. Watch this video and Chris will help you find out more on how to do that!
It’s simpler than you’d think it would be, but you’ll need quite a few tools for the job. You’ll need a flathead screwdriver, ratchets and sockets, a breaker bar, a torque wrench, brake cleaner, a brake pad tool, a thread locker, and some grease.
Both real grease and elbow grease will be needed! It’s best if you start with a quality set of brake pads and brake rotors. That way, you won’t have any problems such as warping or brake dust.
Your first step will be taking the brake pads off. Next, you need to disconnect the whole caliper and caliper bracket from the knuckle. After you’ve replaced the rotor, you’ll need to put the caliper back on. You’ll want to tighten up your pistons before you put the new brake pads in. Remember to grease up your guide pins. Once the pads are in place, the caliper closed and the screws tightened, you’re good to go. Chris will walk you through everything. Watch this video, and you’ll know how to change your brakes so that you can drive safely.
